BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARKNESS

Rp 60.000

Between Light and Darkness explores the moral and emotional architecture of human life through the classical framework of the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Heavenly Virtues. Rather than presenting morality as doctrine or judgment, the collection approaches sin and virtue as lived conditions—habits formed through repetition, desire, neglect, restraint, and return. The manuscript is divided into two mirrored sections. Part I — The Seven Deadly Sins examines pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust as intimate human tendencies rather than abstract vices. Each sin is explored through five poems that trace its psychological progression, revealing how excess, avoidance, and misdirected desire quietly shape identity and consequence. Darkness in this section is familiar rather than theatrical—rooted in justification, comfort, and unchecked impulse. Part II — The Seven Heavenly Virtues responds with humility, charity, patience, diligence, generosity, temperance, and chastity, presented not as ideals but as disciplines. The virtues do not erase the sins that precede them; instead, they address the same impulses through attention, restraint, and practice. Light in this section is steady and earned rather than triumphant, emphasizing embodiment over abstraction
